Hi guys i know i have not posted much in a while... sorry
I recently purchased a squire j mascis jazzmaster with the intention of having it as a backup guitar for my band/alternate tuning guitar...

When i got it home i was in love with the neck and the trem, but the pickup was lacking... close to a P90 tone not a mosrite tone... after some googling i found Curtis Novak Mosrite pickup in a Jazzmaster casing! SCORE! i decided to leave the pickup cover black because thats what most mosrite pickup covers are
I liked the neck pickup for ebow on the rhythm curcuit... so i only ordered the mosrite bridge pickup.
He was nice and sent out the pickup ASAP

At the same time i wanted to change the pickguard from gold to my fav colour red and wanted to create something unique and different... also to look a little like a maton fyrbyrd :-)
Image
So first i took off the pickguard to find a nice neat wiring inside

I soldered in the new pickup, then tested it before rewiring (very important... nothing more annoying than putting everthing back together & restringing to find it doesn't work!)

I had the cat watching and learning... mainly playing with the dangling strings :-)

Now the guitar rocks!

hope you like the post

My theory is that strings give off some vibration that we can't hear when they're being installed. I had a cat who would dash downstairs, even, whenever I replaced strings. My old 12-string Rickenbacker 330 was his favorite to assist on; I think he loved to hear me curse until I figured out a trick to make stringing that thing easier!!!

HAHAHA thats great!
I was trying to keep the cat away because of the hot soldering iron until the end where she managaged to get into the room and start playing with the strings....
cats & guitars ... its a fun mix

Cats also like to snuggle their way into guitar cases!

Our cat used to hate being left at home...as soon as the suitcase came out, the cat was the first thing in it!
