My buddy wanted me to build him a lapsteel with benders, so I've put this one together with prototype benders made of delrin... The idea is for him to play it a while now so's we can finalize the design of the arms. The sound is good, but there are some bugs to work out of the bender system.

Very nice! Do the benders raise, or lower the pitch?

Nice! The bottom part reminds me of the Bat Boat (in a good way!).

The B-bender takes it up a whole note, the G-bender a half-note.

Here's an update on the benders... I've built second generation paddles out of some scrap aluminum I had...it goes back today for more "trials."
