A friend of mine liked the recent Tortoise pickguards that I made for Jim Page that she asked me to make her a set for her Gretsch G6120 Junior. They look so good on the orange guitar, actually much better in person than the photos show.

When I posted them on the Gretsch forum, another member with an orange Gretsch G5120 asked for a set. I’m liking this!

Sarah, that's fantastic! Gretsch should of done that right from the start.
The two go together like Champagne and Caviar..... ;) .

I'm not surprised at all. You have a great work ethic. . . . keep it up. They look great. -Terry

Thank you! I very much enjoy doing these. Once I make my oak template the repeatability is spot on. The first ones I made for Nate were very slow as I figured out my process. Now, I'm gaining more confidence so it's getting much faster. I'm also cataloguing and storing my templates, which is actually two fold. I also make masonite templates so I can quickly draw them out on the pickguard sheets with a Sharpie. That way my oak templates don't get a build up of ink on the sides.

Once I have a router table as Terry suggested I think this will go even faster because I can keep my straight bit in my little Bosch Colt and the 45 degree bit in the larger Craftsman router secured to the table.

My next goal is to buy an arbor press so I can duplicate the old "scalluped" Mosrite bridge base. I know I'm not going to make a lot of money doing this, but it is a hobby for me and I really enjoy it. :D
