This was my Christmas gift this year


Unfortunately as i was playing Black Sand Beach on it, the vibrato arm snapped off inside the bushing.


After i loosened the strings i took the vibrato off. It is very similar to a Jaguar Vibrato system.


After trying to loosen the bushing to remove it, i found that it was unmovable


I tried manually loosening it, banging on the wrench with a hammer, and then banging on a wood block with a hammer. IF anybody has any suggestions on how i can get this thing removed and up an running with a jaguar bushing, i'd appreciate it. Merry Christmas

Congrats on the new guitar! I'd try putting some penetrating oil on it and letting it sit for a bit before trying to break it loose again. Have you tried getting the remainder of the arm out of the collet? Maybe with a nail punch?

im afraid i dont have a nail punch handy, but i'll soak it in some WD-40

Right before i went to get the WD-40, i decided to give it one more good smack. And it came loose! Now im going to work the broken arm out, and if that doesnt work, ill get a jaguar bushing

That is one nice Christmas present there Mike. Good thing you got the nut loosened.

The type nr reminds me of an Aria type nr. I believe they did an 1802T too, way back when, they certainly did a 1702T which is a Mosrite copy. I'll see if I can scurry up some pics of that 1802T for ya. In the meanwhile; Have fun with it!

Hey olav. Yeah Aria did make this model guitar. I actually have the epiphone sister model aswell the ET-270. Typical late 60s/early 70s matsumoku factory stuff. Here's my epiphone. It's a neat little surf guitar
