What if anything do any of you know about the Peavey Delta blues amp? I hate to say it my aging back just doesn't like the 80+lb twin like it use to. I won't do with out a 15" speaker LOL

Jim,
Expect some break-up a lot sooner than on a Twin. Are you guys planning on working some SRV into the set list?

Jim, I don't know anything about the Peavey, but the best mod I ever made to my Twin Reverb was converting it to a piggy back amp. I shoehorned two 15s into a Bandmaster bottom, but one 15 works really well too, that's what I've got for my Showman.

I would expect it to breakup sooner than my twin but I don't push the twin as it is. 4 on the volume dial isn't working it to hard. SRV??? not in the near feature but you never know. I would like to get into some swing at some point if I live long enough. LOL I'm just looking for something a bit lighter for right now and what I have read about the Delta Blues sounds good. I know Paul Yandell uses one so they must have a good clean sound.

Mel, that is an awesome setup! .......Darn, reminds me of the day when I had a Showman and Mosrite sunburst.......why did I ever get rid of those? Hindsight is 20/20, eh?

SleeperNY - you should definitely check one out. Played one a while back and really liked the sound. Same goes for the Peavey classic line. Great amps and the Delta is, well, more Delta blusey sounding

Well I pulled the trigger on the Delta Blues amp. I must say that I was surprised at just what it can do. 30 watts RMS and it keeps up with the band with ease. Nice deep throaty sound that is not to harsh and should smooth out more as the speaker breaks in. It can cover everything from deep blues to Twangy country with no problem. All in all I would say it is the best kept secret Peavey has at $650.00. Not to many tube amps that size for that money.

Congrats, Jim.
So now I guess the Twin goes into retirement, right?
