The TNM Corral

Postby TerryTNM » Sun Nov 29, 2009 2:05 pm

Hello all,

This has been finished a few weeks now but I just got around to taking its portrait.

Image

I call it the Corral. It's gets its body shape and neck design from my Town Hall guitar of a couple of years ago. But this features
a top of knotty alder and body and neck of African Mahogany. I've borrowed on the Gretsch 6121 "Roundup" for the western motif.

You can see more photos and specs at http://www.bobsyouruncle.net/TNM_Guitars/The%20Town%20Hall/Corral1.htm

I'll be showing this at the Geek Fest in January.

Terry, this is absolutely gorgeous. Always wanted a vintage US made Gretsch "Roundup" but couldn't afford one. Last year, Gretsch had a Japan made "knotty pine" limited edition which was so temping but I decided not to pull the trigger.

Yours is a true gem. The "Horse Shoe" motif reminds me the Nokie Fillmore 2000. You got them up to the right direction. (Not like the first two Fillmore 2000 prototype which had the Horse Shoe facing down)

Is the top "knotty pine" too? (sorry, just notice it is knotty alder) I wonder what type of pickups you put there?

Love that movies: "Gunfight at The OK Corral"

"Is the top "knotty pine" too?"

The body top is knotty alder. It is much more durable and less likely to dent like pine.

You can see all the specs at: http://www.bobsyouruncle.net/TNM_Guitars/The%20Town%20Hall/Corral1.htm

Thanks, I just noticed that too. That's one of the reasons I did not buy the Gretsch knotty pine edition last year.

I've got my answer from the specs on pickups too.

Any photo on that special case? (similar to Gretsch?)

I'll have to take a photo of the case and post it later. But it is very similar to the Cowboy case.

Thanks for the nice comments.

To Desert Surfer: I just posted some pictures of the cowboy case that goes with the guitar
if you'd like to check it out at the bottom of the page.
