Here are some of my instruments and some of my amps. More to come when I get more pics uploaded.

my 1970 Rickenbacker clone - the only clone I have.



1914 Gibson F2
I bought this from my uncle. He bought it in 1950 (the year I was born)for $350.00.



These tuners are not original but were installed by the original music store. Inlaid silver and bone made by the Handel instrument company, Germany and never exported to the US after Germany lost WWI. Pick guard brace patent 1911.



1968 Yamaha FG 140
I bought this Japanese model new in Hong Kong in 1972

I bought this new with hard shell case, just before I graduated from high school

This shows original color. The finish on the front has yellowed. I also bought and have the original hardshell case. I have the original Klauson tuners but they would not stay in tune so I installed Schaller 27:1 tuners in the late '70s.

1973 Thinline Telecaster
The date on the end of the original neck is Mar 3, 1973. That was the day I came home from Vietnam. My brother bought this new and I custom made the brass pick guard just after he got it.

That is a wonderful collection, Roger. I can't believe that Telecaster neck is dated the day you came home from Vietnam. How weird is THAT?!?!??!

Now about those mandolin tuners. You mention that they aren't original, but one of my friends has a Gibson mandolin, an A-body one, from that same period and it has those exact tuners on it.

I had never seen them before or since until I saw your pictures.

Jim, I would never have known about the mandolin tuners either, except just after I got it from my uncle I called Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island New York. At the time they had a mandolin appraiser named Larry Lawerence who had been professor of American Folk Music at the University of Iowa. He was very educated on vintage Gibson mandolins and when I described the tuners he told me the story. I bought the Fender Villager new in 1968 in Knoxville and I bought the Mosrite Combo new in early 1970 from a little music store in Millington TN just north of Memphis where I was attending Naval Aviation aircraft structures school. The shop was going out of business & he had ordered the Combo from the factory in '67.
The price tag on it was $695.00 plus $100.00 for the case. I had $300.00 cash and I got it all out the door for that.
