I got a 2203 JMP

Year model 1983, set of 4 matched vintage Marshall EL34s. Sound: fudging a'. Nails the road to ruin and later ramo sound until 1983-84 when John got 800s.
It was fairly cheap for such a great condition and great sounding. Everything works. Just 850 euros, delivery was free.
Personally I think this is the last good vintage Marshall model. The JCM series and up have too much gain for my liking. You can still crank this baby all the way to 10 and not too much. For now I can't turn master vol above 3 since its so ear splitting at that point already!

You can also see the vintage 1959 model in the picture. And the 4x12 1960A high power 120 cabinet.

What year is the other JMP below it. It looks like a early 70's is it 50 or 100 watts?

Yeah I'm really happy with it! Nails the Ramo Road to Ruin sound! The JMP below it is an original 100W Super Lead from the 60s. (Model 1959) The 70s 1959 models had the same looks as the 2203 so it can't be a 70s model. They were also upgraded (or downgraded really) to use PCB and a different transformer (like the 2203) in the 70s. Same circuit, but on a board instead of point to point and new transformers. I know Marshalls. That one is point-to-point. Nice full, thick and warm sound. But dont under-estimate it, it can get nasty too. No master means you gotta crank that thing like crazy to get distortion.

They stopped making the 1959 model in the late 80s, being replaced by JCM 800 Lead Series and eventually JCM 900 Lead Series (1990s).

The 2203 and 70s JMPs are a lot alike, however the original Super Lead and the 2203 are light years apart.
