Acting on a hot tip from DorkRockRecords, I was able to pick up this Standel speaker cabinet this evening for free. It's in pretty rough shape, but interesting. I know very little about Standel amps; maybe someone here can shed some light on what this is?
Here's what I know: the model number is S12ACLE. It's currently housing two twelve inch speakers, but I think the original configuration might have been a single twelve with a big rectangular port. Speakers are a Cerwin Vega 123ER and some mystery speaker stamped 527 677213.
This poor thing has seen some better times. I haven't been able to test it out as the input jack is bad - I read 4 ohms across the inside but get no signal through a cable. I plan to fix that tomorrow.
Personally I love the "insulation" inside the cabinet. Is the covering possibly original? Besides the handle and the head clasps, what other hardware is missing?

And that's just the trouble with tribbles... At least I'll be able to root out any Klingons in disguise!

That really looks cool! It would look better with a black grill.
The mystery speaker is an Eminence (EIA code 67) made during the 13th week of 1972.
Date code 677213.
I've never seen a Standel covered with that vinyl before.
