I saw this on You Tube. It's a Concert with Kayama Yuzo. He usually plays an Ocean Blue Mosrite with White Pickups.
But, in this Vid, he is playing a guitar with what looks like P-90 Pickups, aStrat style p'up in the middle position,
and another P-90 in the Bridge Position. Above the Neck Pickup on the Bass Side, it looks as though there's a
Guitar Tuner as well, built-in under the Pickguard.....Anybody care to take a guess???
p.s. Stop the Vid at #3:02 for a better look....

His name is Yuzo Kayama, not Kayama Yuzo!
I thought I could make out "by Yamaha" on the headstock (at approx 0:50-0:51), but I'm not sure. The headstock shape looks like a Yamaha SGV...

Thanks Zak, I'm not that familiar with him, and apparently, but all the listings on You Tube have him listed that way, oh well........
p.s. However, the Body looks wrong for an SGV......no?

I never said it was an SGV! Just said the headstock was similar, and when I watched the full-screen version of the video it looked like the headstock said "something something by Yamaha" on it, but I could be wrong.
As for Yuzo's name...it is definitely Yuzo Kayama, not the other way around.
There used to be a really cool 60s video of Yuzo & the Launchers playing "Black Sand Beach" (with the entire band playing Teisco guitars and amps) on youtube, but it has been removed.

Well, it depends on where you are. In Japan, the family name always comes first, that´s why him and Terauchi Takeshi are so listed on youtube. But for us westerners is Yuzo Kayama all right.

That would be Kayama Yuzo's limited edition signature Yamaha - the SG3KY (note: "KY" for Kayama Yuzo). It was put out in 2005 to commemorate both the 40th Anniversary of the Yamaha electric guitar and the 45th Anniversary of Kayama's debut. Yamaha made 45 of them and they listed for 880,000 yen each - that's about $8000 US.

I know hiragana, katakana, a few kanjis and can sing the theme song for Uchuu Senkan Yamato (Star Blazers), does that count?
