mosriteforever wrote:Hi and thanks for your kind comments. In light of the rapidly approaching Bill Gruggett show, I thought I would add these crappy cell phone pix of a guitar Bill just finished. These pix do not do the guitar justice. It is good to know that Bill is still building great guitars and is one of the last great master luthiers from the golden age of guitars! He still does it the right way, by hand and with knowledge that just can't be taught unless you really want to know! God Bless Bill Gruggett!!

This guitar has been a year in the making and has had probably a dozen hands on it over the course of that year. Some parts will look familiar to our Mosrite purists while others may look out of place, but in the inimitable words of our very own Deke Dickerson, "Suck it." I won't give you a hard time for slapping a Kahler on your axe if you don't give me a hard time for my transgressions. God Bless America!

Adam,
How about posting some pix of that new Gruggett you just got? That has to be one of my all time favorites.

And Danny's favorite, my new new-old-stock Gruggett from 1996, with my new, old, stock Model 200.

Re: Bill Gruggett Guitars
Thanks Adam!
The craftsmanship that went into the construction of that guitar is pure artistry. The pickup covers are routed out out of solid wood to paper thin thickness as if it were plastic. Bill said he uses Superglue on the inside to reinforce it while he is routing out the covers so that they don't collapse. Pure brilliance, and who would think of such a thing. What amazes me the most is that Bill is from the 'old school', meaning, he makes his 'jigs' and tools needed to do the job as each project progresses with everyday home workshop 'BS' tools that can be purchased at Harbor Freight Tool store. I do do a pretty decent job building guitars with a whole lot of effort, but Bill is an artist in every sense of the word. It's like a master guitarist that can make a $12 Silverstone sound like a Di Angelico. Course Terry McArthur and Ed Elliott ain't no slouch either.
Adam, I love the looks of that amp. How does it sound? That may be one of those next on the agenda items of 'have to get'. Keep an eye out and let me know if something like that comes along within pocket book reach. That's 'pocket book' not credit card.

Still in the honeymoon phase, but the amp sounds pretty good (way better than that Fender Capricorn I traded in) and the guitar sounds great!
