My buddy Phil Hernandez just stopped by after he had been over to Bill Gruggett's house and picked up the guitar featured here. It is not Phil's guitar, he is only delivering it to it's owner. I got a chance to play this for a while an have to say it is not only gorgeous but sounds and plays like a dream. I can only imagine what something like this would cost. It is an absolute work of art. Unfortunately it will not be at the Gruggett benefit show tomorrow.

Beautiful guitar. But, I don't think I'd care for the idea of someone carting my guitar around, letting others play it, before I got my hands on it. Or, is that just me?

Apparently it's not a brand new guitar, but one Bill made about 15 years ago. It was back in for a setup. Anyway, Bill mentioned that he carved the top and bottom as opposed to pressing a laminate into shape. That must have been a heck of a lot of work, but wow, the results speak for themselves.
