Dub;
How about I send you the neck, body and The Re-Ranch finishing supplies and you do the finish on my Tele.
You are fairly close and I will gladly make it worth your while.

Do what!... and let you miss the pleasure of self accomplishment. Sorry but I only do finish work on my own stuff. That way I don't get any complaints.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
In making the faux capacitor, I printed the pattern from the link in my previous post and cut them into strips. I placed a few drops of oil based leather dye in in rubbing alcohol to make a dye bath to get the color I wanted for the replica capacitor. Next I let it dry then trim and form the strips around an 3/8" drill bit used as a mandrill to prepare it for inserting the modern capacitor and pouring in the wax.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
This sort of thing just fascinates me.
I sure wish this dang Japanese Tele clone I bought on eBay would hurry up and get here.
I been listening to the Paul Butterfield Blues Band's first album all day to get in the mood for when it arrives. I know; they aren't playing Teles on that album, but it works for me!
Keep 'em coming, Danny.

Next step will be to make up a cardboard jig to hole the capacitor center of the outer case and pour in in melted wax.
Jim, here's a great Tele player that is also a member over on the Telecaster forum. He's also recognized in the Blackguard book and here he's playing an original 1952. Type in his name and you'll find several video's of him playing live as well as an instructional video.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
Great job on the Tele, I can't wait to see the finished piece. The guy that created the cap artwork is also a Mosrite player. I had corresponded with him about the FuzzRite information that he used to have on his website.
Mike Bloomfield played a Tele on the first Butterfield "Born In Chicago" album. In fact the Tele was his main guitar until he got the Les Paul.

Re: Blackguard Telecaster
Mr. Bill, I never know that about Bloomfield playing a Tele!!! I always envisioned him with a Les Paul.
Amazing what one can learn on this forum.
Danny, I'll check out the YouTube Tele player.
Thanks, guys!

Well, here it is finished but I'm not happy with the color of the wax. I'll have to make up another one and use beeswax instead of parafin.

Beautiful, Danny!
Thanks for Redd Volkaert link! He shows a nice video on double stops, too, which is something I've been working on lately. YouTube is just amazing.
And so is REDD!
