Man, talk about making a silk purse...

Nice job there. How about a flamed maple veneer top with binding?

that would take all the fun out of turning it into a JR. I was thinking a tv yellow finish too but the customer want it to look like a modern tv yellow not a vintage tv yellow. so i thought a tabacco burst would be a second choice, but he already has a guitar in that finish, so it will probably end up tv yellow.

Nice! I dropped a Lollar in mine. He makes one that fits right in without having to do any routing but you may have known that already.

the funny thing is we aren't going to change any of the electronics. the only thing I'm doing is moving the jack to the side, and were going to replace the cap with a bubblebee version. we're still debating on painting it TV yellow or a tobacco burst.

I wouldn't bother with the bumble bee, unless its an original one. The new ones are bumble bees in cosmetics only.

In antique radio restoration, we cut open the cardboard capacitors and install modern caps inside, then reseal the ends, For appearance only, and we don't go selling them for $113.00 either.
Gibson is really on a slippery slope these days. Are they trying to beat Toyota for quickest fall from grace or what?

Yeah, I won't be spending any of my money on Gibson products any time soon. The ONLY Gibson thing I have is a 'road worn' guitar pick that I found on the floor at a place where we go for band practice
It must be worth a fortune
