Thanks everyone for the nice compliments.

The Bassman 100 sounds fantastic through a Carvin Bass cabinet with four 10's. I haven't received the Black Widows, should be arriving in a couple of days so I haven't finished the cut down speaker cab yet. You can see it in one of the following photo's behind the stripped of Tolex Bandmaster speaker cabinet.

This is the Bandmaster I started restoring. You can see by the rust on the chassis how nasty it was. Sitting next to the chassis is the head cabinet I recovered today. Still waiting on the arrival of speaker grill cloth and all new chrome hardware and handles.

In the background you can see the Bandmaster speakers. They were rusted just about as bad as the chassis. When taking them out one of the terminal wires coming off the coil broke in two down inside the basket. Bob, our rhythm guitar player and retired Orthodontist, spent a couple hours cleaning everything and managed to save the speaker with surgical skill.

I'll post some photo's of the Bassman cab and the Bandmaster when everything is complete.

Wow - with that much rust I'm surprised the transformers still work! Where the heck was this thing stored, a sauna?

Nothing like having too many projects going all at once. Here is the completed Bandmaster, minus the metal Fender logo's which are being refinished. Originally the Bandmaster was going to have the aged grill cloth but it's owner decided to go with the 'all new' look.

And here are the speakers in the Bassman cabinet, minus the dividing partition.

unfortunately both amps are now with their owners and I won't be able to get photo's of them again until our next live rehearsal. Next couple of rehearsals will be in the studio recording through amp modelers.

Wow - that Bandmaster looks factory fresh! I've never been able to get grille cloth lined up that well.

What are the dimension on the Bassman cab? Looks like plenty of room for the Black Widows. Are the ports just open or did you put tubes in them?

Good luck with the recordings!

I used the Showman dimensions for the Bassman cabinet. The ports are simply four 2" holes to help move the are. It's a good thing I did as it really pumps a lot of pressure out those holes when the amp volume is on 4. The speakers are are probably more than the smaller cabinet can handle but I couldn't go much bigger and still make it practical to lug around. I'm guessing it weight at least 65 lbs and probably more. I put the head on the scales and it alone weighs 50 lbs.

Bobs amp sounds as good as it looks. It reminds me of when my amp was new. It'll really look sharp when he get's the logo's on it.
