And here I thought that the reverb part was the most significant factor. Turns out to be the tremolo that made the difference.
Congrats!
Aww I just can't make my mind up.

Me too.
The fact that it's 8kg lighter than the Deluxe is a bonus too.
I'm still working on my dual tank outboard reverb, for those times I need the extra splish splash.
Also it reaches its clean sweet spot at a volume a little friendlier to the neighbours.
I was a little concerned that the bass tones might be a little weak, as they were a bit in comparison to the deluxe in the shop.
But I needn't have worried. It sounds excellent at home vs the busy music shoppe.
I know a lot of people say the point to point wired amps are better, but I think this thing sounds fantastic (even without the verb and trem).
Maybe in a year or so I'll build a point to point clone, just for kicks

Re: Aww I just can't make my mind up.
The girls were out today, so I managed to crank it up to 2. Everything in the house rattled.
I needn't have worried about the difference between the two amps.
This thing sings just as much as the deluxe did. My problem was that the store I bought from didn't have an iso booth like the first time that I played the deluxe.
Now I'm building an iso cab, to be able to play/record without disturbing the neighbours.

Re: Aww I just can't make my mind up.
I've almost finished the cabinet.
Just need to trim up a few final details, but it works nicely and doesn't sound all boxy.
The amp can be cranked and you can stand in the same room whilst having a conversation.
I think if I'd nested it inside another cube with insulation, then it'd be nearly silent and also enormous!

Six months or so later and the Princeton's speaker has worn in and it sounds great at any volume.
