Two thoughts:
DR strings are in this opinion outstanding, especially the 11 flats for surf and jazz
'Personally not a coated strings fan. 'Ever seen magnified photos of hard-picked coated strings? The look like rope with ultra-severe fraying. Maybe in the macro-world that is not important, but it looks creepy...and all that residue on your instrument...yech.
