Eltuce, Fritz, and Sarah! Thanks for the lead/link/seller info on the Combo. I'm not on the Grestch forum, but I sent him a PM through here. If any of you guys post on the Gretsch forum and want to do me a favor and pass along my email to Dr Gretsch, it's unionjacksband@aol.com
Maybe I can talk him into keeping the red one
Thanks!

Here is a Sunburst example. A bit high priced in my humble opinion.

thanks Sarah, the Guitar Broker has been trying to sell that one for quite some time. The fact that it's about 1K overpriced might have something to do with the fact that it's sitting
I have a line on one that's in Guitar Center's used inventory, I'm waiting on details....fingers crossed

Re: WTB: 60's Mosrite Combo (sunburst).
This is extremely frustrating.....not only is it exactly what I want spec wise, it's only 25 miles from my house!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1960S-MOSRITE-COMBO-GUITAR-SERIAL-NUMBER-0657-/190602604401?pt=Guitar&hash=item2c60ccef71
I wrote the seller a very nice message suggesting that they research completed listings for a more realistic pricing range. I also sent a few links to dealers with Combo's for sale. I never outright said it was 1.8-2K overpriced, I was very polite with my wording. I also went ahead and offered an extremely fair (ie: about $250 more then these typically sell for) cash price for the guitar. I pointed out that there would be no shipping hassles, ebay or paypal fees....just cash in hand for the holidays...
All I got back was a rude response. I suppose this can still happen. If the seller keeps relisting without any bites, eventually they may start lowering the price.

That's a really pretty guitar, but you're right on the price. If you've made an offer of what you're willing to pay, that's all you can do.

That's a Gene Moles assembled Combo. The 2 volumes and a tone are a dead giveaway. It's probably all late '60s parts, and I wouldn't be surprised if the large dots were installed by Gene.
