Oops! Missed your first post! Yeah, most of their stuff is overpriced by about that much. I have an in of sorts but not that much. We'll see.

Couldn't deal with Empire. Firm on the price, plus a 3% paypal fee (and they only take paypal). They were also slightly outrageous on their shipping qoute ($80 for ground from RI to IL...c'mon :roll:

). I was pretty bummed. I wasn't looking for a steal and I was actually willing to pay above the typical Ebay average price (what I use to judge actual value in current times) but it would have been around 2.2K shipped, and I just can't see it.

Back to square one...

Jeez, sorry to hear it although I'm not all that surprised. Even if I picked it up for you and took care of the shipping it's still a bit too high. Plus, I don't think that one even has a case. The red one is back on ebay with a higher BIN.

Well I just about blew my Combo budget on a new IMac (which will primarily be used for recording), but again...if any forum member has one,
specifically with these specs:

-sunburst
-bound F-hole
-black headstock
-'half' vibrato

Get ahold of me, I'll find the cash

just a quick bump....I unloaded some gear that wasn't getting much use, so I have a Combo budget again.

The seller, "Dr. Gretsch", is also on this forum as "Geoff E. Stich". I've played this guitar but I think it had Hallmark pickups at the time.
